On April 3, 2025, Marcia Leard, RN, BScN, NSWOC, WOCC(C), Past President of NSWOCC, was awarded the prestigious King Charles III Commemorative Medal for her remarkable contributions to nursing in Prince Edward Island. Marcia was recognized alongside Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island Dr. Wassim Salamoun.
The Coronation Medal celebrates the ascension of His Majesty King Charles III to the throne of Canada and is overseen by the Chancellery of Honours at Rideau Hall. It is awarded to individuals who have significantly enhanced their community, province, territory, or Canada as a whole, or who have achieved extraordinary success internationally, bringing credit to Canada.
